CHAPTER 3 Last Days

This is the last post that we'll make before returning to Oz. How scary, tomorrow we'll be on our way home. Scary because we're leaving much and because there's so much to go back to. But we've had a ball, our time here has been wonderful, last night we got home from Paris. What a beautiful city, so vibrant and energetic. And what did we see? the question might be phrased better, what didn't we see? And we definately have the pictures to prove it. about 100 in all, that's equivalent to 4 rolls of film...in 2 days...yes we may be trigger happy but since we've got a digicam you can take as many as you want, show what you want and delete the rest. So if we counted all the shots we kept and deleted? probably 2-3 hundred, just in france.Yes you can say we've had fun. Going up the eiffel tower at night walking our feet off, and of course shop til you drop...but the real world (and our cats) are calling us home. So 30 hours (incl to/from airports and stopover) after we get on at London Heathrow airport we shall see the wonderful sights of the Hawkesbury valley that we call home. CHAPTER 2

Here is the next installment of the Harriott's European trip!Since London we have been mainly travelling. We were able to spend a fantastic weekend in Oxford with Sam and Becca- they were able to just relax with us! Our accomodation was - well, interesting to say the least! Please refer to photo of us with our bath towels - yes, BATH towels which were (as quoted by Sam) "big enough to dry my big toe"! The whole place and our experience there seemed eerily like an episode of Fawlty Towers! The other guests seemed just as confused an amused by the whole thing (on a tangent - one of the guests we met, had grown up in Bowen Mountain - yes our little Bowen Mountain in Australia! ) Anyway, I'm sure we shall all remember our experience there for years to come! Thankfully the town of Oxford did not disappoint! We went punting (see pic of Aj mastering the art and running into trees), had lots of coffee and were even able to have dinner in the pub where C.S Lewis and Tolkien used to spend their evenings! Overall we had a great time - despite our poor accomodation.
We parted from Sam and Becca and moved onto Scotland - which I've decided I absolutely adore! I'm sure Aj got tired of me ooohing and aaahing at every little town we came to! We stayed in Edinburgh and were able to visit the botanic gardens! We saw lots of little critters - some of which had obviously posed for the camera before - like this little fella.....
Loch Lomond was also stunning - we didn't quite make it to see nessie - maybe next time...(above left)
From here we began our trip down to Bath staying one night at Bradford where the towels were quite adequate for our toes and oh so much more!
We have now spent one night at Bath, in beautiful Limply Stoke Hotel (bath towels here also more adequate). Last night we chatted with a couple - one is Irish and the other is Scotish (yes- and they are married to one another!) I think Aj has nearly convinced them to move to Australia! We went to the Jane Austen Centre today and strolled around the town of Bath. The picture shows the gorgeous park in The Circus. Beautiful - all of it! Saturday we're off to Paris and then before long, home again.
We miss you all lots and will see you soon - hope you find our snapshots enjoyable!
